Flavors of Fall: Our Favorite Healthy Treats

The weather is cooling down, the days are getting shorter, bonfires are crackling, leaves will soon begin to turn, and football has started...there's no doubt about it - Fall is upon us! There are many reasons to love this time of year. Among our favorites are all of the delicious flavors of fall that come with the season. Pumpkins, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, and other root vegetables come into their prime. And it seems like there's a new "pumpkin spice something" everywhere we go. Halloween and Thanksgiving will also make their appearance. We could go on and on...one thing's for certain - fall brings new flavors!
For those of us who are trying to maintain healthy dietary choices, this time of year can be a little bit more difficult. The sweetness of pumpkin pie spice and apple pies, and pumpkin pies, and candy corn, are delicious on the tongue, but aren't always the best accompaniment to a healthy diet. No need to worry though - we've taken our favorite sweet fall flavors and slimmed them down. HOMEMADE PUMPKIN PIE SPICE
- 3 TBSP ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- 1 ½ tsp ground cloves
CANDIED APPLE TEA
- 1 bag of Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea
- 1 packet Kiwi-Melon protein drink or Apple protein drink
- Dash of cinnamon
- A few drops of caramel extract (optional)


PUMPKIN SPICED COFFEE
- 1-2 dashes Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 8 ounces hot coffee
Add a few dashes of Pumpkin Pie Spice to hot coffee and stir. If you take your coffee with cream, a splash of Vanilla Ready-to-Drink protein drink is a delightful addition that doesn't pack a ton of sugar, fat, and calories like traditional creamers can.
SKINNY FALL SPICED LATTE
- 3 ounces MRC Vanilla Ready Made drink
- 8 ounces hot coffee
- Dash of a mix of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and/or allspice
Pour 3 ounces of Vanilla Ready-to-Drink protein drink into 8 oz. of hot coffee. Stir in your choice of spices and enjoy.

PUMPKIN SPICED CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES
- 1 packet Vanilla Creme Pudding protein powder
- 1 packet Double Chocolate Pudding protein powder
- 1 ½ - 2 ounces water
- 1 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
PROTEIN GUMMY TREATS
- 2 Packets Knox Gelatin
- 2 packets of any flavor MRC protein drink concentrate
- 1/3 cup hot water
- Gummy molds
