Healthy Breakfast Ideas for Every Type of Morning Person
August 8, 2022
You've heard it since you were a kid: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It's the foundation of your day and sets the tone. Knowing this, why not make sure that you start your day off right? Many of us know this time of year to be the beginning of "back to school" season; often signaling the end of vacations and the start of "back to routine" even for those of us no longer in school or without children and family members in school. For a couple months during the summer, we have a habit of breaking free of our usual day to day - and that's not a bad thing. We deserve time off, time away, and quality time for ourselves that we might not get as much of throughout the year! But, all good things eventually come to and end, and we find ourselves in need of a bit of a reset to get back into routine and back on track.
Whether you've got 30 seconds in the morning to grab a breakfast bar before you're out the door or you've got some time to really sit down and treat yourself, we've got a breakfast idea for each of these and everything in between! For those who are short on time or the "I'm not really hungry in the morning for breakfast" type, grab a protein bar or protein drink. Proteins are made up of amino acids which are used by the body to build and repair muscles and bones and to make hormones and enzymes. Proteins also help provide a feeling a fullness - reducing appetite and hunger level between meals and may help boost metabolism and fat burning.
So, if you've only got a few moments to pick something out and eat in the morning, we recommend making it a protein-rich food source. In the Metabolic Web Store, we've got protein options in a plethora of flavors and varieties. For those who want something quick and easy to mix up in a bottle of water or a glass, give our protein drink concentrates a try. Orange will remind you of Tang (remember, it was a "kick in a glass"?!) and Apple will be a clean and crisp burst of flavor - perfect for the upcoming fall season. Maybe you are a "meal in the morning" type person, but it's just a hectic start to the day and you need something quick you can eat on your commute? You'll love our protein bars and wafers! These individually wrapped bars are the perfect portable meal replacement, and 15g of protein gives you a running start into a productive day! Or maybe you're a smoothie and shake kind of person looking for the ultimate meal replacement to tide you over from breakfast to lunch? Get yourself a box of Vanilla or Chocolate VHP (Very High Protein) shakes! These individually packaged protein powder packets come with 30g of protein per serving and can be enjoyed as simply or as elegantly as you like. Throw into a shaker bottle with some water and be on your way, or put them in a blender with some crushed ice, frozen fruit, and peanut butter for a delicious and filling peanut butter protein shake! Looking for something with a little more substance than a bar or chocolate shake, give one (or all) of these recipes below a try:
- Protein Waffles - perfect for the person with more than one mouth to feed or that waffle maker that you got 10 years ago and has just been sitting ever since. These waffles are ready in about 10 minutes from start to finish!
- Frozen Greek Yogurt Bark - perfect for the person who likes to prep their meals in advance. This one is going to take some time. So, unless you get up 2 hours before you head out of the house, this is a good one for weekend meal prep or making right before you go to bed the night before.

- Southwest Breakfast Casserole - this is another one that takes a little more time put into it, but the result is worth it!
