7 Super Low Fat & Low Carb Smoothie Recipes
April 14, 2021
Have you noticed that as the weather gets warmer, your appetite has changed? You’re not alone… All of a sudden those hot and heavy foods don’t sound as appetizing as they did a few months back when the weather was colder.
There is actually a scientific explanation for this… it’s a little something called “thermoregulation.”
Thermoregulation was discovered during a study back in the ‘90s that found that our body heat actually fluctuates our appetites. Essentially, eating food provides energy… and energy helps our bodies produce heat. So in the winter, when your body is seeking to increase its temperature- your body might crave more food. Likewise, in the summer, you may not have as big of an appetite since your body is exposed to warmer temperatures.
But enough of the history lesson… you’re hungry for something light, filling, and nutritious. That’s why we’ve created this list of seven super low fat and low carb smoothie recipes for you and the entire family to indulge in all summer long. Enjoy!
