Sublingual B12 (60 Count)
Vitamin B-12 in the Methylcobalamin form plays an essential role in virtually every cell in the body.
Vitamin B-12 enhances the body's metabolic rate for weight loss, and up-regulates the conversion of fat and carbohydrates into energy.
B12 is directly involved with the synthesis of fatty acids, digestion, protein synthesis, absorption of nutrients and supports the function of many other biological systems.
It's easy to find people all around you who have had positive experiences with Vitamin B-12 shots. Complementary medicine practitioners have used them for years as an adjunct for their patients bothered with fatigue (like, anyone ever been bothered with that?). However, the nutrient, once absorbed, heads for the nerve covering (or sheath), and tends to have a protective effect there in a myriad of ways. In addition, it is vital in the prevention of certain forms of anemia. More recently, it has been found, in conjunction with a few other nutrients, to lower serum homocysteine levels, a blood marker involved as a cardiac risk factor.
Avoiding a true (and dangerous) deficiency of B-12 is easy (for non-vegetarians), and the levels required to do so are fairly low. There is some controversy today concerning its reported benefits in the taking of much higher doses, but what's really neat is that the nutrient is amazingly safe, so trying such doses, to see if they have that effect on a given individual, presents few problems.
But then, again, who wants to mess around with a shot? It's not the most comfortable route of administration, must usually be administered by medical personnel, and can therefore be somewhat expensive, along with the hassle involved. The problem is, very little B-12 is absorbed orally, requiring a second agent (intrinsic factor) to assure the body gets it by that route.
That's where 'sublingual' (meaning 'under-the-tongue', or just 'SL') B-12 comes in. There is a bed of tiny blood vessels beneath the tongue that sits close to the surface, providing an enhanced area of absorption into the bloodstream that does not require an injection, while vastly improving the amount that the body would normally assimilate by taking a similar amount of the stuff by swallowing it.
As it happens, there are actually three different compounds called 'B-12'. By far the best (and, of course, most expensive) is well recognized to be what's called 'methyl-B-12' (as opposed to cyano-B-12 or hydroxo-B-12 forms). That, of course, is the only form we offer, in a sweet-tasting tab that dissolves under your tongue (without the use of aspartame or sucralose).
When energy levels increase, it's much easier to muster the interest in any form of exercise, which can only enhance reaching your weight loss goals.
