Ubiquinol CoQ10 (30 Count)
CoQ10 is a lipid-soluble co-enzyme that is vital for energy production, increased metabolism and anti-aging effects due to its powerful anti-oxidant properties. CoQ10 is an essential component of many different biological functions. Every cell and organ in the body depends on the presence of CoQ10 for optimal functioning. Since becoming available to the health-conscious public, coenzyme Q10 (more commonly called 'CoQ10') has become phenomenally popular. Its popularity, in fact, continues to grow. People are discovering that the tons of scientific research into its amazing properties are actually taking a back seat to the fact that its effects are so clearly being felt by the vast majority of its fans!
CoQ10 is what's known as a 'catalyst', which means it helps chemical reactions not only occur, but also occur at a faster rate. In this case, those reactions have specifically to do with the conversion of food into energy, and the utilization of that energy by the body's cells. Given that information, it might come as no surprise that the site of an especially high concentration of the substance happens to be human heart muscle (an energy-demanding site if there ever was one!). In fact, clinical studies have found that the nutrient, when given after heart attacks, helps prevent future heart attacks, chest pain, and even the odds of dying from heart disease! (As an aside, one other very high-concentration site, oddly enough, happens to be the gums, so if you have gum disease, you may need CoQ10 even more.)
However, there are a couple of problems with CoQ10 in the human body...
First, its levels decrease as we age. Modern-day stresses make it tougher to get enough, not to mention that some prescription medications (specifically statin drugs) lower the body's stores of the substance.
Second, CoQ10 (also called ubiquinone) is not actually considered the 'active' form of the nutrient. That honor goes to a compound called ubiquinol, into which ubiquinone gets converted by the body. The issue here, however, is that the body's ability to make that conversion decreases as we age.
Our solution is to provide you with the active form of CoQ10, already converted. We give it in a gel cap, which guarantees that it dissolves when you take it (not all hard pills do that). Also, since the substance is so remarkably safe, we make sure you get a dose high enough to help provide some real benefit (unfortunately, not all products out there do that).
